The College of Business will bring together local and international partners from industry, business, and governmental leaders with research faculty in the summer of 2027 to explore how the university community can support and assist local communities as they look to the future. The goal is to stimulate conversations that will encourage collaborative projects that help build the long-term resilience of communities. With water and energy being perhaps the two most important resources in Montana, the conference will explore how these collaborative groups can collectively address questions of availability, reliability, and quality. Speakers with national and international experience in community resilience concerns will be recruited as keynote speakers. For instance, Dr. Carolina Maran, District Resiliency Officer, of the South Florida Water Management District, has tentatively agreed to provide a keynote address.
MSUB students will be recruited to earn credit as International Ambassadors. They will help with conference planning and execution. They will be exposed to the scholarly process of selecting manuscripts for presentation at the conference.
