Areas of Critical Need - Jacket Giving Day 2025
This annual event has raised over $320,000+ (overall) that has gone directly back to the students and staff at MSUB and improved and enhanced the student experience.
Today allows you (our friends, alums, and community members) to support the area identified as a critical need by the university and foundation administration. These projects will directly impact the student experience for many Yellowjackets; by helping attract and retain the best and brightest, helping someone afford that one last class to get their diploma, or choosing between a car repair and their education.
The MSUB Student Crisis Fund was established on August 23, 2021, to support our most vulnerable students facing financial difficulties. By providing them with emergency funds, we can help them get back on their feet and continue their education. The awards are usually a few hundred dollars, but their impact is immeasurable. It can be the difference between dropping out or continuing their studies.
We've awarded 17 individual Crisis Fund awards this year alone to safeguard our students and keep them enrolled. As Jacket Giving Day 2024 approaches, we're searching for 17 donors to support this critical cause and help our students succeed. Join us in protecting our community and making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Yellowjacket Excellence Scholarship: The newest scholarship program at MSUB, this award is designed to award first-time freshmen for their high school success with a yearly renewable scholarship based (initially) on their high school GPA. This application is valid at both our City College and University Campus. Studies have shown that past high school academic achievement correlates to university success, and with cost, the number one barrier to high school graduates, this transparent financial help will help eliminate/reduce some of those barriers.
Our goal for Jacket Giving Day is $6,000 for this project. This amount will be sufficient to offer scholarship support for two students at City College for a full year or to provide a student on the university campus with support for one year.

Your donation will provide the flexibility to support various initiatives, from funding unique learning experiences for students to purchasing equipment that helps produce top-notch graduates in Eastern Montana.
